165 of 244 Kitchen Ads Send Homeowners into a Form. Who Books the Design Appointment?

We examined 480 live advertisements across 40 UK kitchen and bathroom businesses. The findings expose where paid homeowner interest can disappear before it becomes a signed installation contract.

Extreme Growth builds and operates the customer acquisition process that connects those steps. From the message that attracts the right homeowner to qualification, appointment booking, follow-up and signed contracts — measured against one commercial outcome. Your cost per contract won.

480 Live Ads. 40 Installers. The Same Expensive Gaps Kept Appearing.

We examined live advertising across 20 kitchen businesses and 20 bathroom businesses. We also investigated where homeowners were being sent after clicking and tested the performance of the landing pages. Here's what we found.

Think about what those findings mean for an established showroom. The advertising attracts the homeowner. The homeowner expresses interest. Their details arrive. Then the business has to do the work of turning that interest into an appointment. And that appointment into a contract.

The money has already been spent before the designer even gets involved.

How does your acquisition process compare?

The appointment that matters

The 1 Appointment Your Advertising Should Be Working Towards.

A homeowner sees one of your kitchens. They like the design. They click. They request a free consultation. And then?

The enquiry lands in a form. Your showroom has to call them. Perhaps the designer is with another customer. Perhaps the homeowner doesn't answer. Perhaps the appointment takes another two days to arrange. Or never happens.

Across the 244 kitchen advertisements we examined, 165 ended in instant enquiry forms. That's 68% of the advertisements in the sample. Across both kitchen and bathroom sectors, only four of the 480 advertisements carried a booking button.

The advertising is asking homeowners to express interest. But the next commercial step is rarely made explicit. For an established kitchen or bathroom business, that matters. Because the appointment is where the opportunity becomes real — where the project can be discussed, where the homeowner's expectations become clearer, where your expertise becomes visible, and where the buying decision begins to take shape.

Your acquisition process should help suitable homeowners move towards that appointment while they're ready to take the next step. That's what we build.

Qualification before the first drawing

The Most Expensive Enquiry May Be the One Your Designer Spends 6 Hours On and Never Closes.

Imagine a homeowner visits your showroom. They love the displays. They want a new kitchen. Your designer discusses layouts, storage, finishes, appliances and worktops. The first design is prepared. Then revised. Then revised again. Another conversation follows. Perhaps another showroom visit.

Then the homeowner reveals that the entire project budget is substantially below the proposed quotation. Nobody deliberately wasted anybody's time. The expectations simply weren't established early enough.

Now multiply that across a month of design consultations. Your designers are busy. Your appointment diary is full. Your quotation pipeline looks healthy. But too much of that activity may be tied to projects that were never suitable.

The qualification process should begin before the designer opens the first drawing.

That means understanding the project, the property, the approximate scope, the homeowner's requirements, their expectations, their likely timescale, and whether your business is a suitable fit. The objective is to give your team better information before committing valuable design and survey time.

Kitchen Installations

The homeowner is investing in a room they'll live in for years.

A kitchen renovation involves dozens of decisions: layout, cabinetry, worktops, appliances, storage, lighting, installation — and how the finished room will work for the household.

According to Checkatrade's October 2026 figures, a budget full kitchen renovation averages approximately £11,500. A bespoke kitchen averages approximately £35,000, with projects ranging from £15,000 to £50,000.

At that level, the homeowner is evaluating much more than the price of the units. They're considering the design, the quality of the materials, the installation, the project management, and whether they trust the business to deliver what has been promised.

Your acquisition process should attract homeowners who value the type of work you deliver — and establish enough understanding before your team commits substantial design time.

Bathroom Installations

The homeowner wants confidence that the project will be delivered properly.

A bathroom renovation can involve plumbing, electrics, tiling, waterproofing, fixtures and significant disruption to the home. The homeowner may be concerned about cost, how long the work will take, who will manage the installation, whether unexpected problems will arise, and whether the finished bathroom will match what they were promised.

A typical new bathroom project costs approximately £7,000 according to the figures referenced in our research.

But a standard replacement bathroom, a luxury renovation and an accessible bathroom installation involve different requirements. They shouldn't all enter the same qualification process with the same questions.

Accessible Bathrooms & Wet Rooms

A homeowner planning an accessible bathroom may have very different priorities: safe access, ease of use, practical layout, reliable installation, reduced disruption, and confidence that the finished room will meet their needs.

The advertising, qualification and appointment process should reflect those differences. The right homeowner needs to encounter the right message and the right questions before the survey begins.

The Referral Effect

The Referral Effect Helps Homeowners Understand Why Your Installation Is Worth Choosing.

That's where our Referral Effect approach begins. We investigate the projects you most want to install, the homeowners who value that work, the concerns they have, the language they use, the details that matter to their decision, and the evidence that helps them choose with confidence.

Think about your best customer. Perhaps a friend recommended you. Perhaps they visited a completed kitchen. Perhaps they saw a bathroom installation in somebody else's home. They had already seen evidence of your work. They knew something about the experience. And they had a reason to trust you.

Now consider the homeowner who discovers your business through advertising. They may be comparing several installers. Looking at photographs. Checking reviews. Requesting quotations. Trying to understand why one kitchen costs £12,000 and another costs £35,000. Or why one bathroom installation is substantially more expensive than another.

Your message has to help them understand the difference before the quotation arrives.

Then we build that understanding into your advertising, landing pages, qualification journey and follow-up — so suitable homeowners recognise what makes your business worth considering before your designer or surveyor begins the conversation.

Creative volume

More Advertising Variations Matter When They Give Homeowners Different Reasons to Choose You.

Our research found that 30 of the 40 kitchen and bathroom advertisers already used video. The format itself wasn't the obvious gap. The messages often were. Seven advertisers running at least five advertisements used the same headline across every variation. Two showroom franchise advertisers used one headline across 39 of 39 and 48 of 49 advertisements respectively.

Think about the different reasons somebody might choose a kitchen installation company: design expertise, craftsmanship, space planning, storage, installation quality, project management, materials, confidence in the team. Those are different buying considerations. The same applies to bathrooms — a homeowner considering a walk-in shower has different concerns from somebody commissioning a complete luxury bathroom renovation.

We develop advertising around the projects you want to win and the reasons suitable homeowners choose. Then test different messages, creative approaches and formats to establish what attracts the right opportunities. Depending on the advertising investment and testing requirements, we create and test between 10 and 100 creative variations.

The objective is to attract more suitable opportunities and improve the cost of winning contracts.

The 1 Number That Matters More Than How Many Design Enquiries You Receive.

Cost per contract won.

Imagine two kitchen companies spending the same amount attracting homeowners. Both receive enquiries. Both arrange design consultations. Both issue quotations. But one company wins more suitable projects from that investment. The difference may sit in the message, the qualification, the appointment process, the expectations established before the consultation, or what happens after the quotation is delivered.

The same applies to bathrooms. A busy survey calendar can look encouraging. But if too many appointments are unsuitable, the acquisition process may be costing more than it should.

We connect advertising expenditure and acquisition management costs to the signed contracts attributable to that activity. Then work on improving the process.

Because the objective is to win suitable installation contracts at a sustainable acquisition cost.

07

Sales Process Improvement

We work with your business on the journey from consultation to quotation and signed contract. That includes how the value of the proposed installation is communicated and how suitable opportunities are followed up.

One connected acquisition process.

Measured against the cost of winning signed contracts.

What If Your Designers Spent More Time With Homeowners Who Were Actually a Good Fit?

Consider what changes when the homeowner arrives at the consultation with the basics already established. You know the type of project. You understand the approximate scope. You know the property is in your service area. You have an indication of their expectations. And the homeowner has already encountered information that helps them understand your approach.

The designer can spend more of the appointment discussing the project itself. The surveyor can focus on the technical requirements. The sales conversation can begin with a clearer understanding of what the homeowner wants.

That is the purpose of connecting the message, qualification and appointment process.

Delivery

Built and Launched Within 30 Days.

We begin by understanding your installation business: your target projects, your service area, your design and survey capacity, your current acquisition activity, and how your team handles enquiries and quotations.

Then we build the agreed acquisition system — the positioning, the advertising, the landing pages, the qualification journey, the appointment booking, the response process and the reporting. Our commitment is to build and launch the agreed system within 30 days of commencement.

From there, we measure performance and improve the parts of the process affecting the cost of winning contracts.

The Guarantee

A 90 Day Commitment to Improving Your Acquisition Cost.

We establish your existing cost per contract won using agreed advertising expenditure, acquisition management costs and signed contracts attributable to that activity. That becomes the starting baseline.

Our commitment is to bring your cost per contract won below that agreed baseline within 90 days.

If we don't, we continue working without our management fee until we do.

The guarantee is subject to agreed conditions, including accurate sales reporting, timely enquiry handling and the operational cooperation needed to measure performance.

Tian's sales presentation messaging was changed to communicate the value of his architectural services more clearly. His reported close rate moved from 15% to 60%. The intervention focused on the buying conversation rather than generating more opportunities.

Exclusivity

One Kitchen or Bathroom Installation Partner Per Agreed Territory.

We work with one installation partner per agreed service category and protected area. If we partner with a kitchen installation company covering Berkshire, we won't build a competing acquisition system for another kitchen installer in that protected territory.

Bathroom installation is assessed as a separate service category where there is no direct conflict. Territory availability and overlapping services are checked before an agreement is made — because our work involves understanding your market, your customers, your positioning and your acquisition economics in detail.

Built for Established Kitchen and Bathroom Businesses Ready to Install More.

Extreme Growth primarily works with established UK installation companies already investing in customer acquisition — businesses with experienced design and installation teams, a proven service, meaningful contract values, and capacity to fulfil additional projects.

For smaller businesses that prefer to implement the system themselves, we also provide a guided route with tools, training and support. The Installation Profit Audit helps establish which approach may be appropriate. You don't need to choose a package before taking the assessment.
